You're invited!

Looking for a Doula, but not sure where to start?

You’re invited to Homegrown Babies Meet the Doulas Night!

Come join other new and expectant parents to learn about the benefits of both birth and postpartum doula services.  Each meet the Doulas Night includes an overview of what doulas do, the benefits of doula services, and how to find the right doula for you. Homegrown Babies Doulas represent a wonderful variety of personalities, ages, backgrounds, and skills in both birth and postpartum doulas.

There is no fee for expectant parents to attend the event, and all are welcome.

Time is also provided for parents to meet individual doulas in brief “get acquainted” interviews. If you are not sure you want to have a doula at your birth, or are even unsure of what a doula is, this is a great opportunity to meet several local birth doulas without making any commitments towards hiring just yet.

Topics covered include:

  • Receive an overview of what doulas do
  • Learn the benefits of doula services
  • Understand how partners/dads and doulas work together
  • Discover how to find the right doula for you
  • Find support as a single parent
  • Learn how doulas are useful during any variation of birth
  • Understand the difference between a birth and postpartum doula
  • Learn what questions should be asked in an interview to a potential doula
  • Receive information about pricing and services

Did you know that studies* show the benefits of working with a birth and postpartum doula may include:

  • shorter labor lengths
  • reduction in requests for epidural
  • decreased use of forceps or vacuum
  • increased confidence in partner
  • reduction in cesarean rates
  • higher breastfeeding success rates
  • more opportunity to spend time bonding with baby
  • easier transition into parenthood
