Let’s get moving!
Remaining active or restarting activity are often a struggle in late pregnancy and the early postpartum period. Mother-to-mother connection is the most ancient and trusted way for women to successfully ease their transition into motherhood. Join other mamas and soon-to-be mamas in this fun and functional workout group aimed at getting and keeping you moving, loving your body as it is, and connecting with one another. Moving Mamas is lead by a DONA certified doula and Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. Additionally she is a two time marathon runner and mother of three. Children birth to walking are welcome to join their mama.
Topics discussed will include:
- Sleep (yours and the baby)
- Adjusting to motherhood
- Exercise and nutrition
- Much, much, more!
Come prepared to move! Comfortable clothing (workout wear) and athletic shoes are recommended. We will be outside so dress for the weather (baby too!).
In the case of inclement weather we will meet at the Asheville Mall at the interior entrance of Belk adjacent to Hallmark and Starbucks.
Weekly workouts will include walking, stretching, stretching with your stroller if you have one, and breathing exercises.
Bring your stroller, baby carrier, water, and a healthy snack.

DONA Trained doula, Lamaze trained Childbirth Educator,
Learning about childbirth in early childhood courses in college, Kelly saw birth as a painful and difficult experience. Through educating herself and learning her options, Kelly’s perceptions changed drastically while pregnant with her first daughter. She experienced birth as transformational. As she gained knowledge of the process and a multitude of coping techniques, a passion was unleashed to help women overcome their fears about birth and work toward the birth experience they desire. Having had both hospital and homebirths with her own children, Kelly carries the variety of those experiences with her when working with women. Now a certified birth doula through DONA International and Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, Kelly brings knowledge, compassion, and spirit to her clients and students.
